Our Top 2020 Interior Trends

We caught up with Amanda Stonehouse this week to say a cheery hello, but also to find out about her thoughts on this years 2020 interior trends.

For the last 6 years Amanda has been designing and styling interiors for our Prodoto clients. With an impressive 25 years of experience as a stylist, her keen eye for style and design is second to none.

"Keeping up-to-date with current and future trends is an important part of my job. Over the years I’ve seen a number of design trends come and go, but seeing new and evolving ideas emerge never loses it's appeal" - Amanda Stonehouse

Whilst showcasing our clients products, Amanda references the years best and most engaging designs, taking inspiration from and interpreting trends into realised room sets.

Considering the influences for the upcoming seasons, Amanda has compiled a list of top design picks for 2020 and beyond!

Sustainable Materials

We will see a big move to natural and sustainable materials across furniture, fabrics and accessories.

Warm Colours

Saturated hues and jewel colours; adding warmth to a room with a confident colour palette. Utilising walls and large furniture items offers an opportunity to inject colour. Alternatively, you can use soft furnishings and accessories to provide accenting pops of colour.

Blue Is The New Grey

Pantone announced Classic Blue as its 2020 Colour of the Year. The shade brings with it a sense of calm but choosing more vibrant blue tones can inject life and energy into a space.

Layered Textures & Patterns

Both bold and traditional patterns will be appearing across textile designs this year. Get busy layering; the key to this trend is that there aren’t any rules!

Maximalism

A playful aesthetic, where 'more is more'. It’s all about bringing fun into our homes by playing with colours, patterns and textures.

"Individuality will remain at the forefront of design for 2020" - Philippa Prinsloo, Head of Design Home at John Lewis & Partners.

Neo Mint!

Finally and no means least, the ‘it’ colour for Spring/Summer 2020. Introducing, Neo Mint. It will be seen across both fashion and interiors this coming season. If you’ve not already encountered this fresh and zesty colour creeping into your summer palette, you soon will!

"Excited by the year ahead and seeing these on-trend designs emerging, I'm also looking forward to working with the new, evolving forecasts for 2021!" - Amanda Stonehouse

We look forward to seeing more of Amanda's work coming through the studio over the coming seasons.
