Five Ideas For Your PPE, Safety And Workwear Shoots

We've been working with a number of brands on their workwear product launches, and we wanted to share our insights to help you make the most of your next project. Whether that's safety equipment such as helmets and gloves, or Hi-Vis workwear, there's lots of techniques you can use to promote your products effectively.

1. Highlight The USPs Of Your PPE Equipment And Safety Clothing

As with all product photography featuring on ecommerce platforms, it's important to use a range of images that show every detail of your product with particular focus on unique selling points. When it comes to PPE and safety equipment, this is more important than ever as you need to reassure your customers that your product can do the job before they'll make the purchase.

Pay particular attention to different angles, including close ups and wide shots all taken with clear focus with good lighting. Without these basics, you'll be unable to communicate the best features of your product.

2. Build Trust By Demonstrating Your Product

Show how your products perform, demonstrate their features, and increase the amount of information contained within the imagery. Often using models is a perfect way to show the usability of your product, with customers able to get a better understanding of how features are used as well as allowing them to visualise the fit of clothing and equipment.

Show zips, buttons, pockets for jackets, visors, clips, fastenings for helmets or lenses, straps and frames for protective eyewear. The more you can include in your ecommerce listings, the more informed your customer will be about the benefits of your product.

3. Use Video To Communicate Features

Video works incredibly well for complex products that have a number of features worth shouting about - communicating these benefits quickly and easily to a digital audience is key to generating ecommerce sales.

You can do this in a number of ways; models are great for adding personality to your assets and can show usability, 360 degree product spins can show equipment from every angle, 3D animations can break down complex features, or stop motion can add a playful element to your content. Pick whichever best suits your safety wear to communicate everything that's great about your brand.

4. Place Your Product In A Real World Setting

Placing your PPE in a backdrop that your customers experience every day is a perfect way to build a connection. It will help people connect the dots to see how your equipment or workwear fits their job. Show what your product does best in a setting that it was designed for.

You could take your product shoot on location, or create a bespoke set in a studio. Whatever you choose, be sure to select models that your customers can relate to and will represent your brand well.

5. Experiment With The Creative

Going the extra mile on a creative shoot can give your content the edge amongst the competition. Content that delivers high impact and builds drama is perfect for communicating brand messaging and immersing customers in the content.

Think product reveal videos, slow motion effects, 3D renders and technical spec animations, all highlighting the design quality of your products and a myriad of desirable features. When a strong creative idea is executed well by brands, it often pays off in the engagement their product launch receives.

Could these ideas be applied in your next campaign?

Consider how you present your PPE and safety equipment across all platforms, whether that be ecommerce sites or traditional catalogues, investing in creative images can help sell your product.
