Big Balls Collective
BBCo is a headwear brand producing headgear for those with the spirit of adventure and who love the great outdoors, their products are shaped by their time spent on the mountains and by the sea.
The Brief
We were asked to shoot BBco's brand new head wear collection, photographing models at the clients chosen location in Cornwall. We were to capture the models taking part in regular outdoor activities, the images needed to be natural and relatable. The captured images were to be used on the clients website, social media and the upcoming look book.
Location Shoot Pre-Production
With the clients approval, Prodoto Production Manager Lucy arranged flights and models. Lucy then worked together with the client to confirm the style guides and potential sites to use around their chosen Cornwall location, 7th Rise.
Lead photographer Paul and Social Media Coordinator Nicola were to travel to Manchester Airport with the equipment. Meeting models Harrison and Olivia at Manchester, they would travel down to Newquay together where they would meet our client Annie.
Upon reaching the location, Paul and Annie discussed potential areas to use for the shoot and at what time of day they would be most suited, making the most of the light and the predicted weather forecast.
A Natural Feel
As the client didn't want the shoot to feel too styled, the models were asked to act casually as if the camera wasn't there. We shot various different activities and settings including foraging in the woods, lakeside fishing and exploring a tree house.
After alternative outfits and accessories where shot in a range of different locations, the team stopped for dinner. We continued again working through the rest of the locations as sun set approached. Further locations included, sitting round a fire toasting marshmallows and chilling out in the living area.
At 10:30pm shooting stopped and the team celebrated a successful day with a well earned beer!
Day 2: The Shoot Continues
The team started again at 6:30am, planning the day around the tide so that the beach area could be accessed safely.
After breakfast, the models were ready and the shoot commenced! Activities included cooking and foraging, product shots for social media and a boat ride out for Paul!
At 10:30am the client called a wrap, the two day shoot was successfully complete! With the kit packed up it was just the small matter of a plane ride back up north to Prodoto HQ.
Back In The Studio
All images safely backed up, a contact sheet of the shoot was sent through to the client to make their selects.
The chosen images were highlighted and post production got underway giving a final polish, tweaking the images to perfection before delivering them to our client.
Returning the completed images with in a week of the shoot, our client was over the moon with the results.
